What's Happening in 2019 5 February 2019
It’s been a minute since our last update, a few things have changed.
In 2018 we didn’t put out any new records. Still, it was probably our busiest year to date.
We put on several gigs in London, all three of our current acts went on small international tours (Heka even went on the radio), we did a new t-shirt and closed the year with what was undoubtedly our most successful zine release to date - so successful that we only have a couple (that’s 2!!!) copies left!
But 2018 was also our last year officially based in London.
After almost a decade in this city the cost of living has become too much of a burden, and running a label-cum-publisher out of our bedroom can never be a long-term solution. Add that to the real prospect of a no-deal Brexit and the move became imperative.
So where are we going next? The world. We start in Singapore on February 1st and the aim is to become a fully mobile entity, travelling and running things remotely while also taking the opportunity to collaborate with people from parts of the globe which would otherwise be off our radar.
Before you ask: no, we’re not becoming a netlabel, a digital-only publisher, influencers, digital nomads, or an instagram travel couple...yes, there will be way more online activity, specially related to our journey, we got a few tricks up our sleeves and ideas we want to try, but we’re still very much fond of physical formats and the intimate and personalised experience of holding a carefully crafted artefact in our hands.
So do expect at least two new records being released soon, a new zine later in the year, and probably more, once we get our modus operandi fully running.
Thank you so much for your continued support over the years and to all the collaborators who have been kind enough to share their knowledge and time with us on all the projects. All of you have been crucial to the start of this new stage and we’re super excited to show you what’s in the works for the future.
And if you’re just now finding out about us, keep an eye out cause things are about to get more dynamic than ever.
